因為某個特殊的關係，我最近學了hyphen這個字，意思是連結號，長降子--->    -

出去跟朋友聊到這件事，有人說那不是唸作dash嗎？

我想想，對耶！我以前都叫他dash，那究竟hyphen和dash怎麼分？

剛剛 孤狗 了很久，才知道...

hyphen是連結號，前後沒有空格，連結兩個字，且整體構成一個字

dash是破折號，可分為em dash和en dash

em dash較長，前後有空格，長降 -- ，為轉折語氣使用

en dash較短，前後沒有空格，長降 - ，連結兩個字，但是整體不構成一個字

舉例如下：

wild-life ........... hyphen

bell-boy ........... hyphen

computer -- that you use now -- is the greatest invention ........... em dash

8F-1 ............ en dash

1900-2000 ............... en dash
